How to Update the RPU-10 Unit / Motion Editor

In the RPU-10, the servo model to be used must be specified, so updates are required when a new command-controlled servo is released.
The update applies to both the RPU-10 unit and the bundled software (“Motion Editor”).
After purchasing the product, be sure to update both to the latest versions before use.

Never turn off the power during the RPU-10 Unit update process.
Also, make sure the battery does not run out during the update.

Updating the RPU-10 Unit

1. Connect the PC and the RPU-10 using the RS232C cable supplied with the RPU-10.
2. Set the rotary switch on the RPU-10 to 0.
3. Connect the power supply to the RPU-10 via a relay box or similar device.
During the RPU-10 update process, servos do not need to be connected (it is also acceptable if they are connected).

4. Extract the downloaded file on the PC.
5. Run “RPUWriter.exe” in the extracted folder.
6. Set “COM Port” at the lower center of the RPUWriter screen to the COM port number to which the RPU-10 is connected.
7. Click the “Write” button.
8. When writing is completed successfully, a message will be displayed.

Updating Motion Editor

1. Extract the downloaded file to a suitable location on the PC.
2. Run “Setup.exe” in the extracted folder.
3. Proceed with the update by following the instructions on the screen.
